Caroline's Circuits' Caroline Q&A—PLUS an exclusive discount for you!
The founder of the hugely popular online fitness platform reveals her makeup and skincare must-haves, body care favourites and more.
Hi everyone, hope you had a great Easter! To help us get going after the holiday weekend, a HUGE welcome to Caroline Idiens — the one woman dynamo behind Caroline’s Circuits, and the reason why a fast-growing, global community of women are rolling out our mats with her online, four times a week.
A personal trainer for over 20 years, Caroline launched her online fitness platform four years ago and now has a following of 1M+ on Instagram and an international community of subscribers to her results-orientated program, featuring four new strength-based workouts every week.
Each lesson lasts 30 minutes, from start (warm-up) to finish (blissful stretch), and is easy to follow but fast-paced. That said, Caroline encourages you to work at your own pace and ability, offering options throughout. “My aim is to provide home workouts which will motivate and inspire you to make exercise part of your lifestyle for the future,” she explains. Lessons are recorded, if time (or time zone) don’t allow you to catch them in real time.
Caroline’s teaching style is super-warm, real and encouraging—rather like having a girlfriend, who just happens to be an experienced and inspirational PT, teleport into your living room and put you through your paces.

The Midlife Beauty Edit Q&A, with Caroline Idiens
What are the must-haves in your makeup bag right now, and what do you love about them?
Have just discovered Merit Beauty in the last month! Love it, especially the Flush Balm Cheek Collar (£32) and Complexion Stick (£40).
I’m also a huge fan of Trinny London. All the products work so well with my skin and I love the ease of use of the stacking pots! BFF DeStress Serum (£39) in Binky is a particular favourite.
I love Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in Pillow Talk (£21) and Hour Glass (£24.65, on offer at time of posting at John Lewis) for brows! I have eyelash extensions so I don’t need mascara!
What are your daily skincare essentials?
Balance Me Vitamin C Repair Serum (£28, currently on offer at the website) is my all time favourite. I love Trinny London moisturiser with SPF, See The Light SPF50 (£45) and the retinal serum, Overnight Sensation (£75), an Elemis daily cleanser and Sunday Riley Vitamin Rich Hydration Cream (£17 for a 15g jar). I also love Votary cleansing oils.
For body care, I love Legology - amazing salt scrub and Air-Lite (£62) feels fabulous after a long day.
Also Wildsmith oils are wonderful and Olverum in the bath!
Any hair care must-haves?
I'm a big fan of Shanti Shampoo (£18) and Conditioner (£18) (smells amazing) as well as Olaplex and Aveda hair masks. Best hair oil is Ches Editions. I'm taking a hair supplement, too.
Do you use any beauty tools, to boost your skin or wellbeing, regularly or as a special boost?
Love a spray tan! Huge fan of Sienna X.
I always do a hair mask once or twice a week. Need to do more massages, especially sports massage.
Your fitness loves?
My passion has always been strength training – focussing on developing workouts with resistance based exercises. I have seen first hand the benefits of being strong both physically and mentally, especially as we get older.
Favourite activewear: Lululemon, Sweaty Betty, GymShark. Best piece of kit? The resistance band - so versatile followed by TRX, kettlebells and of course dumbbells. Yogi Bare for mats
Favourite way to rev-up in the mornings?
I'm up at 5am religiously, a very early riser. I take Athletic Greens’ AG1 (£79) every morning without faiL, as well as Symprove (Water-Based Gut Supplement With Live and Active Bacteria, £79.99 at Boots).
And I love my coffee! This is my favourite part of the day and I'm raring to go for my class at 9! Morning exercise for me is non-negotiable and totally changes my mood too for the day.
Best way to ensure a better night’s sleep?
I need to turn my phone off otherwise I am on it way too late. Plus I try not to have a late cup of tea.
Love a bath before bed with my favourite oils and I take ashwagandha in my turmeric shot which helps to calm as well as magnesium.
Any other midlife wellness habits/tips?
Always get outside if you can for half an hour a day for a walk - total gamechanger. Try to stretch first thing if you cannot fit in any exercise, just so important to mobilise. Lots of water and limited caffeine and alcohol.
Sleep is really key - it dictates all your choices for the day to follow.
